Bertha Reese Smith is a Tullahoma native and dedicated member of the TNSTEP Board of Directors. Her commitment to disability advocacy is deeply personal as the mother of a son born three months premature who experienced developmental delays, inspiring her passion for supporting and advocating for children and adults with special needs.
Bertha has served as a mentor with the TN Promise / TN Achieves program, guiding students as they transition to postsecondary education. She is currently a staff member at Motlow State Community College, where she balances her departmental responsibilities with volunteer roles as coach and sponsor of the college’s cheerleading squad.
An enthusiastic supporter of student athletics, Bertha also follows Tusculum University. She resides in Tullahoma with her son and remains dedicated to strengthening supports and opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families.
