Lauren Massingille joined the TNSTEP Board in November 2024 after being introduced to the organization through the Young Leaders Council of Nashville, a program dedicated to developing effective nonprofit leaders. Through this experience, she became connected to TNSTEP and was quickly inspired by its mission and impact.
Lauren’s passion for the disability community began early. While in high school, she volunteered with Special Olympics Tennessee and developed a meaningful connection with the family of a child with special needs, providing support for several years. After returning to Nashville following college, she continued this involvement by volunteering with Saddle Up, an organization that provides equine-assisted therapy to children with disabilities. These experiences have shaped a deep and lasting commitment to supporting children with special needs and their families.
Lauren joined the TNSTEP Board to further that passion and to give back to the community in a meaningful, mission-driven way. She currently serves on the Strategic Planning and Fundraising Committees.
Professionally, Lauren has spent the past 10 years in the technology industry and holds an undergraduate business degree from the University of Mississippi. She is currently pursuing an MBA in IT Management and is an active member of the Junior League of Nashville, where she has served on the Marketing Committee for three years. Lauren resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
Lauren’s advice to families visiting TNSTEP for the first time is simple: you are not alone. There is a community of people who truly understand, who want to support you, and who are here to help navigate every step of the journey. TNSTEP exists to empower families with knowledge, resources, and advocacy so they can confidently make the best decisions for their child and their future.
